Computershare’s Nigel Derrick has joined the line-up of speakers for IPSA’s annual Employee Share Ownership Day.

Nigel, who is Client Services Director at share scheme administrator Computershare, will join Fitbit HR Director Clodagh Logue and Martina Fitzgerald, CEO of Scale Ireland, as speakers for ESOD21 on 10th June.

A virtual conference due to COVID19 pandemic restrictions, the theme for ESOD21 is ‘Incentivising the Workforce of the Future’.

Nigel will take a look at the changing employee share ownership landscape in Ireland – the different types of share schemes and how they function, which schemes are the best fit for different sizes of company, and the pressing issues facing the sector.

Clodagh will tell the story of Fitbit’s growth in Ireland from 7 to 70 employees, and the role that culture, leadership and employee engagement has played in incentivising and motivating their growing workforce. How important will this balance with financial incentives be for the workforce of the future?

Martina, CEO of Scale Ireland, will talk about the challenges facing the Irish start-up sector, the importance of employee share schemes as a tool to attract and retain key talent, the issues in structuring share awards in the current legislative environment, what support start-ups need from the Government, and what lessons can be learned from abroad.

All speakers will participate in Q&A sessions with attendees.

ESOD21 is a free event hosted by IPSA chair Eleanor Cunningham which will take place at 10am on June 10th via Zoom Webinar. Registration is open.
